The 7 Mental Shifts Highly Successful People Make
By: Brian Harrington
To be successful, we have to stay in learning mode permanently. This does not mean learning new things all of the time, it is often as simple as adapting what we already know.

Perhaps the most difficult part of acquiring a new habit is to get rid of an old one. We love to accumulate things or behaviors, even though they do not contribute to the search for our purposes.

Remember that over time the individuals that subsist are not the strongest but those who adapt best to change.

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” — Max Planck

Here are the the 7 mental shifts highly successful people make to achieve everything they want in life and business!

1. Change Your Lifestyle

Decide – once and for all – for a healthy lifestyle.

To deliver your best, worry about your health first of all. Any goal you have in life starts here.

You have to do two things: a balanced diet and physical activity as a daily priority. 30 minutes of exercise daily is enough.

2. Remember that Small Actions Matter (a lot)

Reaching extraordinary things takes time. Nothing truly worthwhile happens overnight.

The most productive people set long-term goals and are aware that achieving them depends on the small actions of every day.

For example, if your goal is to get a raise, there are things you can do immediately to get it. But what you really have to look for is to achieve economic independence in the medium term.

3. Learn How to Inform Yourself (daily)

If we consider that everything we consume has an effect on our mood and attitude towards life, we better nourish our minds with healthy information.

It is important to be informed, but in our priorities and not in those of the big chains of information.

Avoid the news in the morning and before the end of the day, its sole purpose is to raise your audience levels through alarmist information to cause you stress.

Use a newsreader to filter your sources, and give priority to information that provides different points of view and makes you reflect.

If you still don’t do it, you have to read about finance and business, invest at least 20 minutes a day in it. We guarantee that when you do, your creativity and positive attitude will wake you up in the right direction.

“Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.” —Steve Jobs, Apple

4. Stop Finding Excuses

To achieve big goals it is necessary to take responsibility for everything that happens in our lives.

Not everyone starts in the same place or with the same skills, but it is your obligation to react positively from your current position.

Who blames luck or someone else that something goes wrong, all he gets is to show a poor and defeatist way of thinking. Don't be this person!

5. Stay Productive without Multitasking

The concept of multitasking sounds great, but it can generate stress. It can also take more time than necessary.

Focus on one thing at a time and do your best, especially for tasks that require high concentration.

Do not let your mind wander from one thing to another, because you will not do any of them well. Stay focused

6. Stop Being a Perfectionist

No matter how much you work on something, it will never be perfect.

Think that everything has room to grow and this includes you.

Products that we consider insurmountable continue to evolve. Therefore, if you are always looking for the maximum degree of perfection with everything you do, the only thing you will achieve is to slow the overall progress.

Many times, the fear of failure is hidden behind the famous “not yet ready” that prevents you from taking action and taking the first step.

To leave perfectionism aside, start as soon as possible and correct along the way. Adapt whatever is necessary and never stop thinking about how you can do better.

“She was unstoppable, not because she did not have failures or doubts, but because she continued on despite them.” —Beau Taplin

7. Build a Positive Circle of Influence

We have all heard the famous saying that “we are the average of the 5 people we spend most of the time with.” And yes, the people with whom we spend more time help us become who we are today.

Many entrepreneurs struggle with creating positive interpersonal relationships. Your circle should be composed of people who care about your goals and can be helpful in your times of need.

If you spend most of your time with negative people, you're mindset and overall success could suffer. It is important to understand that leaving people outside of your circle of influence is okay.

Try to surround yourself with competitive people who have surpassed your desires. Listen to their advice and use them as inspiration.

If you take complete responsibility for your life and choices, you will shatter whatever paradigm you have and get a new one. When you change the way you see things, the things you see change.

You’ll come to understand and live principles which will organically facilitate success in your life.
